Dries Darrow
Dries recently completed his master’s thesis on entrepreneurship as social change and currently works with a fellow Dutch entrepreneur on a subsurface barrier system to protect coastal communities from sea level rise. His interests are varied and diverse, including sailing, brewing beer, event organizing, and music. He is innately curious and likes to challenge the status quo for the greater good of humanity. During the week, you can find him writing up new business ideas for the Mayor of Miami and spending his weekends on the beach. Everything he does is for others, and he strongly believes in equality.
Connect Miami Beach
Connect Miami Beach is a pop-up series of events and showcases that attracts locals and tourists alike to talk about divisive issues affecting their community. The project works with vacant storefronts to revitalize neighborhoods while expanding community engagement opportunities for underserved people. In its inception, Connect Miami Beach works to foster better relationships between community members, allowing for self-expression in engaging spaces. The planned event will incorporate live music with local business activations and a speaker series to inspire community members to participate in community projects, politics, and climate action initiatives.
