Community Quick-Build Safe Streets
This project centers a community-led approach to the design and construction of quick-build traffic calming infrastructure. While roads are not always top of mind when we talk about “public spaces”, by area they are the largest category of publicly-owned land in our cities. By investing in road safety, we can make our streets more equitable and better serve pedestrians, cyclists, and other vulnerable road users. With funding from KECC, we will design and construct a road safety pilot project and develop a scalable playbook for neighborhoods throughout our city to invest in improving the safety of our streets.
