City Sprouts: A Youth Run Urban Farm
City Sprouts is a youth run community garden for and by the North End. Guided by Ayanna-Grace of TheUrbanLorax, students K-12 will work together to build their own urban farm on school grounds. Throughout the year the students will plant, care for, and harvest organic produce. Younger students will be exposed to hands-on-learning in the applied sciences. Older students will be given entrepreneurial exposure & opportunities. Together, the overall hope is, when students go home with the food they grow, we increase community sustainability and decrease food insecurity.
