H. Lyn Kim
Lyn Kim holds a Bachelor of Health Science from the University of Florida and a M.S. in Occupational Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis. She worked in local government in St. Louis City and Charlotte before her most recent position at a medical device startup. Her need to create inclusive environments that encourages participation among marginalized populations in community initiatives pushed her to pursue a PhD in Public Health Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. As a member of the Sandwich Generation, Lyn enjoys community activities with her husband, son, and parents.
GO CLT!
GO CLT! is a mile mobility event specifically for older adults of all abilities and racial and ethnic backgrounds. Diverse communities of older adults are encouraged to participate in moderate levels of activity with friends, family, and/or caregivers within public spaces in their communities. Participants are encouraged to invite supporters of all ages and abilities to walk/move/travel alongside them at the event. Intentionally held on an accessible outdoor course, the path will be safe for people with walkers, wheelchairs, strollers, and other mobility devices. Equipped with a sense of accomplishment, participants and supporters will be empowered to stay engaged with their local community and continue a healthy lifestyle.
