Jay Mundinger
As a founding member of Centre Social Dance (CSD), Jay facilitates weekly dances and dance lessons, teaches fusion and blues dance, and trains new DJs. As a lighting designer, Jay reinvents public spaces and venues for fusion dance events across the country. CSD is the 2nd dance community Jay has helped found and the 4th dance community he’s helped organize. The dance community allows Jay to aspire to be the best version of himself and lends him the energy he needs for both community organizing and working towards his PhD in lighting color science at Penn State.
Centre Social Dance
Centre Social Dance (CSD) is a fusion dance community that supports all forms of social dance. CSD is home to dancers, teachers and DJs who cross over between Fusion, Blues, East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing, Salsa, Bachata, Zouk, Tango and more. As our community grows and changes, we regularly expand the dance styles we teach and the music we play. CSD is a community-based group (unaffiliated with Penn State), which allows us to welcome both residents and students to all of our events, who compose roughly equal parts of our community. We engage with local bands and venues to energize performances and find new opportunities for social dance.
