Steven DeGeorge
Steven is a husband, a dad, a social worker, and a member of Macon’s mildest moped gang. He loves Joni Mitchell and chips and salsa. He cannot cook but he can whistle pretty good. He thinks it’s a good idea to live, work and worship in the same place. He has four boys in his house and a VW Camper van in his shed. He vows that it will run someday and will carry his family the length of the Oregon trail.

The Field of Hope
About 80 years ago a man died and left a field to the city of Macon. He specified that the field be used as park space for whites only. The field sits within a historically African American neighborhood called Pleasant Hill. The park was never made and the land was abandoned. Recently, a group of friends got together to try and reverse the curse of racism that has stained this land for so long. They hope to redeem this story by creating a wonderful park for EVERYONE, including the 150 or so kids who attend the community center down the street.
